A York Sampler: Selections from the Past
The 2010 exhibit at the Remick Barn Gallery provides an intriguing overview of the history of York, from the 1630s to the late 20th century. With the closing of the season, the exhibit is now open Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. by appointment. To make arrangements call (207) 363-4974.

17 21st Annual Designer Show House
The Designer Show House will run from July 17th through August 14th and will be open to the public Monday, Wednesday – Saturday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Thursday until 7 p.m. and Sunday, 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. It is closed on Tuesdays. Admission is $20 and tickets to the Show House are good for $2.00 off the cost of admission to the Museums of Old York. For more information, please call (207) 363-4974.
20 Morning Adventure: Puppets and Pies
Join an 18th century lady to prepare apple and pumpkin pies. While they bake in the brick oven create crazy puppets. Before you leave enjoy pieces of the pie you helped make. Ages 5-8, meet at the Remick Barn. Thursday, July 20th, 2010

27 Morning Adventure: Hidden Art
Tour the Elizabeth Perkins House searching for as many types of historic art as you can find. Create your own masterpieces inspired by what you have found. Ages 5-8, meet at the Elizabeth Perkins House. Tuesday, July 27th, 2010 from 9 – 12 p.m. $23 ($20 members)
29 Morning Adventure: Acting Like Outlaws
Visit the Old Gaol and learn about the first outlaws in York. Become one of these prisoners and participate in a trial to determine your fate! Ages 8-12, meet at the Remick Barn. Thursday, July 29th, 2010 from 9 – 12 p.m. $23 ($20 members)
29 “Upstairs/Downstairs at Emerson-Wilcox House”
Walk from room to room to meet re-enactors portray those who lived in this house from the 1750s-1950s. Hear their stories first hand and ask them questions, as well. Wearing your Old York admission sticker will get you $3.00 off the $5.00 admission. Members of Old York are free. 3 Morning Adventure: Coloring Historic York
What did people wear in the olden days? Explore our little seen vaults of historic clothing worn by people in York hundreds of years ago. Try on costumes from different time periods. Ages 5-12, meet at the Remick Barn. Tuesday, August 3rd from 9 – 12 p.m. $23 ($20 members)
5 Morning Adventure: Muskets, Swords and Powder Horns
Join us for an up close look at Old York’s military artifacts from the 18th–20th Centuries. Examine historic pistols, muskets, swords, bayonets, ammo, and uniforms used by local men. Ages 8-12, meet at the Remick Barn. Thursday, August 5th, 2010
9-13 Summer Camp : Sailors Out to Sea
Become a 19th century sailor headed on a voyage across the world. Examine historic log books and a sea captains study to plan your route to China. Pack your sea chest with supplies and make a ditty bag to take to sea. Learn to tie sailor’s knots and make rations to eat on your journey. Don’t miss this week of adventure and imagination on the high seas! Ages 5- 12, meet at the John Hancock Warehouse. Monday, August 9th - Friday, August 13th, 2010 from 9 – 2 p.m. $150 ($130 members)
17 Morning Adventure: Toilets and Tubs
Where did people go to the bathroom before bathrooms existed? Find out as we visit an outhouse, the jails prisoner toilets, an early indoor bathroom, chamber pots and tin bathtubs. Ages 5-12, meet at the Remick Barn. Tuesday, August 17th from 9 – 12 p.m. $23 ($20 members)
19 Morning Adventure: Great Games of Old
Play marbles, croquet, and horseshoes following their earliest rules. Make a shuttlecock and battledore to try your skill at badminton. Ages 5-12, meet at the Elizabeth Perkins House. Thursday, August 19th, 2010 $23 ($20 members)
24 Morning Adventure: Textiles to T-Shirts
Learn to spin wool into yarn using a drop spindle and weave yarn into cloth on a loom. Bring a white t-shirt to tie-dye with natural dyes such as onion skins and cabbage. Ages 8-12, meet at the Remick Barn. Tuesday, August 24th, 2010 from 9 – 12 p.m. $23 ($20 members)

10 Preview Party: 3rd Annual Old York Antiques Show
The Old York Antiques Show will begin with a preview party on Friday, September 10th from 5 to 8 p.m. Guests will have an exclusive preview of dealer booths and the first opportunity to purchase antiques while enjoying hors d’oeuvres, cocktails and live music. Tickets for the preview party are $75 and include admission to the Antiques Show on Saturday and Sunday. Patrons who donate $250 will receive two tickets to the Preview Party, be recognized at the event and invited to a special reception to honor our dealers. Tickets can be purchased in advance by calling the Museums of Old York at (207) 363-4974.
11 3rd Annual Old York Antiques Show
The third annual antiques show at the Museums of Old York will take place September 11-12. A boutique show, the event will feature approximately twenty dealers highlighting exceptional silver and brass, furniture, paintings, ceramics, jewelry, oriental rugs, nautical items, textiles, folk art and decorative art. Proceeds from the show support the museum’s education, outreach and curatorial programs, which serve over 20,000 children and families each year. The Old York Antiques Show will take place at the museum's main campus, located at 3 Lindsay Road in York Village and runs Saturday, September 11 and Sunday, September 12 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The $10 admission includes a two-day ticket to experience the Museums of Old York. Free parking is available on-site.
